1.
enter into heaven with your arms outstretched, where a temptress beckons like a flame, and the silhouettes of palaces obfuscate your sacrifice. with your fists unclenched, please hold your tongue. the serpent bears an apple seed for everyone you love.
2.
I found your pink face buried in peaches in the empty reaches where sages decipher grace. if time would have us part, then let us part as one and wither together. the orchard’s wisdom intertwines our timid hearts, and the garden protects us. flesh desire blooms between us and as we die, we’ll stoop to gather the peaches. in the eternal light of late summer’s day, their flowers fall away and unquiet heartstrings ignite.
3.
these fables and parables, these things that are fair, (or so I'm told in hindsight, or so I'm told)— you wear them on your face, like moods that do grace us. it moves us through the daybreak, it moves us through. your memories form as they dance across the surface, and soak into the pages, soak into. they’re bound in your skin, tucked away on a shelf, to gather dust for ages, to gather dust. concealed inside the fable, sealed inside. you carry a tome somewhere far from home, in symbols I cannot read, cannot yet read. but the ink was inlaid with such essence of purpose, that it resonates profoundly, it resonates. these stories you’ve weaved into history’s seams are fabrications of a fabric mind. the poem decides where her poet will end, and who are you to argue, who are you? who are you, who are you?

Ribcage 04:31
I watch her place all her sorrow in the ribcage of an angel. birdsong ringing through the treetops. hanging raindrops, cedar forest. I watch her sow all her seedlings in fields of hope and spring eternal. we get drunk among wildflowers with the wine of garden spirits. I watch her bathe in veins of life as the moonlight stains her shoulders. buried safely in cocoons, she seasons autumn with mists of delight. as our hands glide across the landscape, our gazing eyes fall through the world.

阿吽.
6.
I've got my eye on you and flowers in hand, a living mirror reflecting the raging storm. an offering for peace as the season's tide begins, floating from fingertip a pleading request. if I could speak of all the passages I’ve endured, to feel this release and envision hope, I'd whisper poetry into every stone beneath the sand, with each sweeping return, a foolish wisdom drifts into the unknown. a blooming eternity, only in dreams. a blooming eternity, only in dreams, in dreams. I rest along the edge, biting salt and grinding teeth, braiding seaweed down the length of the shore. soundless but for her lesson, my child's gift long gone. time eclipses all, I've become companion and home for the bubbler, the ghost, the urchin. a cessation to creation, my punishment for naivety. a blooming eternity, only in dreams. a blooming eternity, only in dreams, in dreams.
7.
we lay hand in hand under centuries of sand. we pray and we pray to relinquish decay. we live underground where mushrooms surround. our hearts are lined with sprouts and scintillating doubt.
8.
the moon shines on the garden’s forking paths and white grass sways against the tranquil breeze. I hear her footsteps echo beyond the hills and imagine her face ensconced among the trees. chrysanthemums in bloom with their bitter perfume, I dream of a face I can never forget. as autumn descends, the scarlet leaves abound, and I remain the specter of a man.
9.
Glitter 03:55
I saw you in a dream, erasing sins from the walls of memory. I found you on the bridge, conjoining your soul with the angel of lust. there’s burning glitter on the wind where cables trace the racing clouds. and ghosts carry us to hell, where cancer sprouts from the gardens of love.
10.
the shaman whispers: “bliss quest, blessed curse. crosses and dead trees, ancient rites that bleed.”
11.
Centuries 03:50
you hold your heart out to me, the softest breath against my cheek. time flows between us like bedsheets/banshees. the curtained sky sways in the breeze. I’ll gaze upon your face for centuries. listen for my voice in your dreams. fate’s hand will guide you to fairer streams. like the misery stitched into your dress, god’s cruelty is the tenderest caress. the willows weeping for your grief are etched upon your skin in relief.

about

Amaterasu (天照) is the goddess of the sun in Japanese mythology. Along with her brothers, the moon god Tsukuyomi (月読) and the storm/sea god Susanoo (須佐之男命), she is considered to be one of the "Three Precious Children" of the creator god Izanagi (伊邪那岐神). When Tsukuyomi killed Ukemochi (保食神), the goddess of the harvest, Amaterasu exiled her brother, thus separating night from day.

This album is my attempt at writing bright, hopeful music. Music that express my appreciation for the act of creation, my reverence for the natural world, the teachings of Zen Buddhism. Songs of love and merriment, dreams and reflection. As John Cage once said, "the function of art is to imitate Nature in her manner of operation." Thank you for listening.
